"I went to Atlantic City as just a piano player in a lounge and wound up sitting behind a desk buying millions of dollars of entertainment every year," Randall tells AC Weekly about his years as a casino entertainment executive at the Golden Nugget and Bally's. "It was a wonderful time in my life and I really enjoyed what I did."

Two summer's ago, Peter Frampton checked in with AC Weekly before an appearance at Harrah's and talked to us about recently becoming a U.S. citizen, his small town life in Ohio, and how, at the time, he was in the process of making the "record I've been wanting to make all my life." On Sept. 12, the album, an all-instrumental affair featuring guest artists such as members of Pearl Jam and the Rolling Stones, entitled Fingerprints, will be released. Benny Mardones:
"Reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated."

In the “Ask the Geator” column in AC Weekly’s 5/18/06 issue, Jerry Blavat answered a reader’s question by mistakenly reporting the death of Benny Mardones. Blavat wrote, "'Into the Night' was one of the only songs to ever chart twice in the top 20 (in 1980 and again in 1989). It was written and recorded by Benny Mardones, who sadly passed away recently after a long battle with Parkinson's disease.” This exchange prompted Mardones, who is very much alive, to leave this phone message.
